Shop Till You Drop in Dubai!

With such a lavish lifestyle to boast of, shopping seems to be the foremost thing that comes to peoples minds when they visit here. Dubai has a profusion of malls that have a world of goodies you can get your hands on. Miles and miles of malls that stock up on international goods and special items can be found at every turn in the city. Not just towering malls, some of the best bargains of Dubai can be found in the souks or the traditional Arabian markets found all over the city. When in Dubai, visit the Dubai Mall, which is amongst the largest malls of the world, with an astounding range of retail outlets. Another popular shopping spot here is the Mall of the Emirates, which has a list of the most popular stores you can find in the world, including DKNY, Kenneth Cole, Versace and D&G. Considering that everything in Dubai is rather flamboyant, you must make time to visit the Festival City. Contained within it the Festival Waterfront Centre is a huge retail centre, which is a fun place to spend some time as you watch shoppers go by. Several other malls (and many more coming up), include the Ibn Battuta Mall, which is split into 6 main courts (China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia and Andalusia), Deira City Centre, Wafi Mall, Jumeirah Beach Centre and BurJuman. While most of the malls here feature almost the same stores, it promises to be a rather interesting experience. Shopping in Dubai is definitely not restricted only to malls. You must make time to visit the souks, especially the Gold Souk. Here you will see lines of shops with heavy gold jewellery on display. Price is determined as per weight and no where else will you ever find such a lavish display of gold. A real heaven for ladies! Other souks worth visiting are located in the Bur Dubai area, where you can get Persian wares, silks and other Bedouin items. Shopping in Dubai becomes even more vibrant during the annual Dubai Shopping Festival, a month long event in January – February when you can get the best bargains on practically everything.
