Capital of the erstwhile Bundela rulers, Orchha is now a small town in the Tikamgarh district of Orchha. What makes Orchha a draw for the tourists is the presence of the 16th and 17th century temples that still have a sanctity attached to them. Orchha is a paradise for lovers of architecture and art. The entire town is dotted with lovely temples, palaces and forts with delicate carvings and other works of art. Another major attraction in Orchha is its mural paintings. Many of Orchha temples are decorated by striking frescoes and paintings, a delight for photographers. Nature too has made Orchha beautiful. Set amidst dense forests Orchha is a delight for nature lovers. Though a small town, there are a good number of hotels in Orchha catering to the large number of tourists that come to visit the place. Some of the famous palaces and forts in Orchha have been converted into heritage hotels.
