Dating back to the 10th and 12th centuries these Khajuraho temple were laid by the Chandelas, the rulers of the region then. Today these temples of Khajuraho are a World Heritage Site protected by the UNESCO. Khajuraho is today one of the most sough after tourists destinations in India and is visited by a large number of foreign tourists.
